Judo originated from Jujitsu, which was very pratical in real life situations. Jujitsu can easily break or maybe even kill a person if used. So judo basically is like the way of jujitsu instead of the skills. In modern martial arts, it's been refine more to fit into the sports category.If u'r interested more in Judo's history n etc...try tis webby sakuratakekan.

However, the more advance u go, the more wazas u learn for example arm lock n choke, serious injury like breaking the neck or arm can still happen so the basics of Ukemi, which means breakfall, cannot be underestimated. In order to learn how to throw some1, u must 1st learn how to prevent getting thrown or getting thrown wif the minium damage.

There's tons of wazas in judo n i'm a lazy bumpkin so dun except me to give a detail explanation since diff waza comes from really anywhere, lol. Will jus aga aga maybe dig some pics of wazas that i'm currently learning for my grading...since i need to get prepared soon might as well, lol. Some of the current nage wazas(throwing techniques) i learning for my green belt grading are Okuri Ashi Harai(Pursuit Foot Sweep Throw), O Guruma(Big Wheel), Hane Goshi(Spring Hip Throw), Tomoe Nage(Stomach Throw/Circle Throw), Osoto Otoshi(Major Outer Drop) and some other more. Need to learn 10 of these wazas in kata oso...haiz, n i'm damn bad wif names sia......lol
